ven though they named themselves after a children’s author, their music is not that innocent. Let me introduce you to Silverstein
They formed in 2000 and soon started having concerts in local clubs, which brought them a lot of fans. They released their first album, When Broken Is Easily Fixed, in 2003 and it was fairly succesful. They kept on touring and in 2005 realased their second album, Discovering The Waterfront, that introduced them to European listeners as well. After a long tour that followed the release, the bend almost broke up, because they were facing some personal stuff: Shane Told‘’s cousin and Billy Hamilton’s grandfather both passed away. They were drowning in sorrow and greif, but at some point they decided that there’s no point in despairing and that their sorrow should rather be reflected in their music. What came out was their most personal, and therefore the best, album so far, Arrivals & Departures. They are currently touring Canada.
